Indias second-biggest software services exporter, Infosys Technologies Ltd. (INFY.BO: Quote, Profile , Research)(INFY.O: Quote, Profile , Research), said on Friday it plans to invest up to 4 billion rupees ($89.5 million) in the northwestern city of Jaipur over the next 3 to 5 years.
It will include up to 1.5 billion rupees to build facilities to employ 3,000-5,000 people in business process outsourcing (BPO), the company said in a statement.
Infosys will also spend up to 2.5 billion rupees for facilities to accommodate 2,000 to 5,000 people in IT services.
Infosys already has a BPO unit at Jaipur with a staff of 150, and on Saturday will launch another that can employ 900 people.
